很多人都認為，這意味著凱恩斯支持短期獲利，反對長期的經濟政策，但他實際上是對「無需政府干預，通貨膨脹可以在容許範圍內自行調節」的說法的批評。凱恩斯認為一旦經濟問題發生時，政府的強力介入，不僅應及時，而且應足夠，甚至容許過量。不過，許多經濟學家主張政府的經濟救助舉措足夠就好，注入太多資金並不明智。

不過，後來的歷史證明，捧著凱恩斯理論，大肆擴張政府權利的國家，往往走得太遠，導致貪污腐敗，人民生活更加窮困。

John Maynard Keynes said “The long run is a misleading guide to current affairs. In the long run we are all dead.” in his book “A Tract on Monetary Reform (1923) Ch. 3. ”

Many people have thought this meant Keynes supported short terms gains against long term economic performance, but he was actually criticizing the belief that inflation would acceptably control itself without government intervention.

背景說明：

傳說大地還很年輕的時候，水牛群日復一日的愈來愈大，但也愈離愈遠，人們的食物則愈來愈少。男人知道如何呼喚水牛，那是一種神秘的語言，用神聖的方式吹響號角, 牛群就會一波一波的回來。只有最勇敢、最真誠的男子懂得如何呼喚水牛。

畫作背景故事：

某一天，我在加拿大 Jasper 國家公園，沿著山邊小徑，攝取一隻大的藍色鷺鷥在淺淺的山中小池捕魚的鏡頭。我躡手躡腳的潛行在樹木間，撥開樹枝，找到一個有利的位置，拍了一些相片。然後當我走出來時，踩到了一個很新的，絕對錯不了的灰熊腳印。沿著那些泥地上的腳印，遠遠的我看到它們吃飽了，懶懶的睡在山邊野花遍開的石頭上，我按下了照相機的快門。

In Stone Lithography the image is drawn directly onto a specially prepared flat stone (from which the process gets its name: “litho” from the Greek from “li`qos” meaning “stone”.) A limited number of lithographs are made from the stone, and each is individually signed by the artist. The stone is then resurfaced, destroying the drawing. As the stone is merely a tool used to create the lithograph, each lithograph is considered to be an original.
